So, I decided to take a leap and start a campaign on Indiegogo.com for help with funding my book. I added “perks” to give as a thank you for their donation. If it works out, then I will be able to raise $1500 to help me buy physical copies and marketing pieces (like pens, bookmarks, posters, and flyers).
Once I finished the write-up and added a video, I launched it on Friday. So far, I have $0 donated. Now, I know it has only been three days and I am expecting this to be more like a dripping faucet than a gushing fountain. However, I am trying to think of other ways to promote it. I have boosted the post on Facebook and sent it out on twitter. There are even groups that have contacted me about paying for them to send it out to their followers. These amuse me the most. I know they have a bigger audience they can reach, but I need the funds to promote it. It’s another catch-22 in life.
So, now all I can do is try to push it out to the universe and work on my last round of edits. This will be my last time to polish the manuscript before I send it off for fomatting and getting the coverart approved. Once these three things are done, my book baby will be ready for her debut. I will update with more progress when it happens. For now, let’s just that I have some funding to get what I need for my book tour. Fingers crossed.
BTW- Here is a link to my crowdfunding campaign if you would like to help out. Thanks!
